L'Équipe 24/24 , a leading French sports news media company, will be showcasing its NETIA-based archiving and workflow management system at TVBEurope's IT Broadcast Workflow conference, Dec. 1 in London. Speaking at the one-day event, Sebastien Valere, operations and marketing director at L'Équipe 24/24, will discuss his company's successful implementation of NETIA software to streamline the use of audio and video across radio, TV, Web, and other new media platforms.
" Today's multimedia organizations must be equipped to repurpose and distribute file-based assets across any current or new platform. The flexibility and high interoperability of the NETIA Manreo MAM platform were key to our establishing an archiving and repurposing workflow tailored to such operations," said Sebastien Valere. " I look forward to the inaugural IT Broadcast Workflow conference and to sharing our experiences in setting up a straightforward, efficient digital workflow."
L'Équipe 24/24 manages new media for L'Équipe TV sports news channel, the company's Web site L'Équipe.fr, and the RTL-L'Équipe digital radio station. As a whole, the company has a collection of more than 10,000 videotapes, as well as still images and newspaper and magazine articles that document a variety of sporting events dating back to 1920. The company has deployed NETIA?s Manreo Hypercast Warehouse MAM platform and the new NETIA Workflow Engine automation system along with a Quantel editing platform and the powerful Sinequa search engine to enable a seamless exchange of media between the edit platform and archive system, to allow archivists to enrich ingested material with metadata, and to provide journalists with an intuitive and consistent interface for image, text, and video searches.
Hypercast Warehouse interfaces with acquisition, production, automation, and storage applications to manage audio, video, and images in all file formats (MXF, XDCAM, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV, etc.). The NETIA Workflow Engine automates all of the powerful archiving features found within Hypercast Warehouse, in turn streamlining the overall workflow, saving time, and preventing human error. Direct access to media from the desktop adds further convenience and efficiency to this workflow.
" The TVBEurope conference is slated to showcase some of the most exciting and innovative digital workflows being implemented," said Christine JECKO, Sales VP at NETIA. "L'Équipe 24/24 offers a valuable case study for media organizations seeking better ways to leverage file-based workflows for more effective distribution and monetization of their media assets."
Scheduled for Dec. 1 at the Royal College of Physicians, The IT Broadcast Workflow is a new and unique TVBEurope event that will explain how media organizations can remove cost from the mechanics of producing and delivering television. The conference will consist entirely of end-user broadcasting case studies from around Europe, with presentations consisting entirely of real-world digital workflow installations.
