Convergence is critical to making content available for distribution through a variety of channels, and NETIA will be exhibiting its line of products focused on this theme to the Asian broadcast market attending BroadcastAsia2007. NETIA has enhanced its Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 range of digital audio software programs, Manreo ^TM asset management software, and Media Logging ^TM range with added functionality to enable broadcasters to converge their workflows in a comprehensive software suite. Enhanced Radio-Assist 7.5 Range

The Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 range of digital audio software programs covers each part of the production and broadcast workflow, allowing users to record, edit, or prepare a playlist. Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 features tools for acquisition, sound-file editing, commercial and music production, newsroom systems, scheduling, multicasting, administration, and more. With its modular structure, it can adapt to the different requirements of radio facilities and integrate rapidly into an existing environment.

Equipped with new features that further enrich production and playout processes, Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 offers a one-stop solution that enables even more flexible handling of media.

• U-Share Integration

NETIA has integrated its U-Share network management system into Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 to simplify the distribution of audio content from one site to multiple destination sites. U-Share automates the exchange of content over the latest transmission platforms - IP transport or DVB video transport - for easy management of content distribution to the right place, at the right time.

Other content exchanges can be organized according to priority with flexible options for setting and modifying transmission schedules. U-Share optimizes the exchange of video and audio content through autonomous and automatic management of its transport network. For each transfer request in a given time slot, U-Share offers the best solution for the current network congestion, thus considerably reducing transfer costs.

• Speech-to-Text Functionality

Speech-to-text functionality integrated into Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 offers broadcasters a new level of content analysis and retrieval. By turning audio content into text, which in turn can be incorporated as metadata, the software gives broadcasters a content-mining capability that helps identify and evaluate broadcast patterns. Enriching media in this way also facilitates faster and better access to specific content, and makes that media more valuable for reference or use in future productions.

• Multitrack XT With Integrated VST Standard

Intended for radio professionals, this editing tool for Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 is designed for multitrack digital audio recording and editing and will be on display at BroadcastAsia2007. This simple, ergonomic, and reliable tool is ideally suited for audio editing and production work and now integrates the VST standard for effects. With the addition of this standard, Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 users will be able to add any VST plug-in to achieve a wide and powerful range of audio effects.

• Axia Integration

Radio-Assist ^TM 7.5 is now available bundled with customized Axia IP-Audio networking components that allow any audio workstation PC running Windows® to send studio-grade audio directly to an Axia audio network from its network interface card - completely bypassing the need for PC sound cards. NETIA's partnership with Axia Audio opens up an entirely new world of control for radio broadcasters. The audio networking capabilities of the entire Axia product line, combined with NETIA's ability to provide complete management of users - workflow processes - from capture to multichannel broadcasting - over a variety of devices, provides a truly scalable, end-to-end solution for radio broadcasters.

• Radio-Assist 7.5 in HD

NETIA has extended the Radio-AssistT ^TM 7.5 range to enable operation in high definition. With support for linear 24-bit sound at 96 KHz or 192 KHz, this flagship range now offers users the option of working with the high sound quality associated with HD media.

Manreo With Added Café Functionality and New Video Recorder Module

• Manreo ^TM Café With Support for Multiple-Channel Recording

Also being highlighted at BroadcastAsia2007 is NETIA's Manreo ^TM software range, designed to maximize productivity gains in media asset management and use of rich media. Among the modules in this range is Manreo Café, a fully automated software solution for managing the entire video acquisition chain, from triggering recording via image recognition or according to a predefined program schedule, to file encoding and transmission to remote servers.

Manreo Café ^TM now supports recording of one channel and simultaneous management of multiple record sessions through external devices, such as the Scopus Video Networks integrated receiver decoder. Thus, only one Café module is required to record feeds from multiple channels at the same time.

• New Manreo Video Recorder Module

The new video recorder module within the Manreo suite is used to acquire and digitize videos from tape. With functionality including start, stop, forward, rewind, etc., Manreo Video Recorder controls the VTR and launches the acquisition and digitization (MPEG-2) process. For TV stations and other media companies with large stores of tape-based archives, Manreo Video Recorder enables migration to lossless and more secure digital storage.

The migration of media libraries to digital is critical to preserving media, but it also can be a very demanding process. This latest addition to the Manreo product line uses the RS-232 protocol to control external VTRs and allows users to connect a jog/shuttle control via USB port for easy navigation. The operator can watch video as the media is being digitized, plus in and out points can be marked to create a clip or even a new video, produced automatically from a series of marked segments.

Media Logging

NETIA's Media Logging ^TM range meets the increased worldwide demand for radio and TV monitoring systems by carrying out the capture, indexing, transcoding, and distribution of audio and video content. Broadcasters, telecom and mobile phone operators, and Internet companies use Media Logging ^TM applications for continuous capture of video and audio files 24 hours a day. Each file is examined individually, segmented, and completed with the necessary associated metadata - in an automatic or semi-automatic mode - through the use of sophisticated new speech-to-text and image-recognition techniques.

This advanced speech-to-text functionality allows broadcasters to converge their workflows and achieve wider content distribution from a single software suite. Fully integrated with the company's video and audio management products, this monitoring software enables capture of additional metadata for more detailed analysis and powerful new search functions.

The complete Media Logging ^TM range is fully Web-based to accommodate today's workflows. Perfectly adapted for media companies and telcos active in the repurposing of content, this product line delivers workflows that can increase the speed of delivery by a factor of 10 or more.
